BillPad

My client has not received the invoice email

Check the recipient, delivery activity and spam folders before resending an invoice.

Needs a signed-in account: sending an email through BillPad. BillPad sends a hosted document link. Downloading a PDF or copying a link on its own does not send an email, so first establish which action was completed.

Try this first

  1. Open the invoice and check Delivery activity using Refresh activity.
  2. Confirm the address used in Send, To, including any spelling mistake.
  3. Ask the recipient to check junk, spam and filtered folders.
  4. Check the result of the send action before tapping Send email again.

Possible causes

A local draft may not yet be synced, the document may fail validation, or the email details may be incomplete. BillPad needs a business name before sending. A network or mail-service failure can also stop delivery.

A successful sent event means the mail service accepted the message; it does not guarantee inbox placement. Hosted-page Viewed activity means someone opened the link, not that the intended recipient necessarily read the email. Changing a saved client's email does not retroactively redirect messages already sent.

Fix the problem

  1. Correct the document or business-profile error and wait for account sync.
  2. Open Send and review To, optional Cc, Subject and Message.
  3. Send once and wait for the result. Review Delivery activity again.
  4. If the email limit is reached, follow the message to try again in an hour. The account limit is 20 email-send attempts per hour.
  5. If necessary, use Download PDF and attach the file through your own email app, after checking the recipient separately.

If you sent the wrong person a hosted link, use Revoke existing link to stop future access. That cannot remove an email or PDF already saved. For automatic reminders, the last successful invoice email's recipient is used, so correct the delivery history before relying on the next reminder.

Still stuck

Email [email protected] with the error, approximate send time and whether activity shows a sent event. Avoid sharing full client records or live invoice links unless needed for investigation.
