Needs a signed-in account. BillPad can send a professional email containing a link to your invoice or quote. Sending requires internet access and a successfully synced document. Without an account, use Download PDF and attach the file through your own email app.
Send the document
- Open the invoice or quote and check its business name, client and total.
- Choose Send.
- Review To. The client email from the document is offered as the starting recipient.
- Add Cc if needed. This field accepts an optional email address.
- Review Subject and Message. Make sure they describe the correct document and business.
- Choose Send email and wait for the result before trying again.
If BillPad says your business name is missing, use Add it in Settings → Business profile, save the details and return to the document. If it asks you to wait for sync, let the account finish syncing before retrying delivery.
Check the result
A successful send marks the document sent. Delivery activity records sent events and opens of the hosted page; choose Refresh activity to refresh the list. A sent event means the sending service accepted the email, not that the recipient's inbox necessarily displayed it.
Ask the recipient to check spam or junk if they cannot find the message. Confirm the address before resending. There is an account sending limit of 20 email-send attempts per hour; the app asks you to try again in an hour when it is reached.
Good to know
The email contains a hosted snapshot link. Anyone with that link can view the shared invoice. Review the snapshot after changes, and use the sending actions to update the shared copy when needed.
Sending an invoice does not record a payment. Use Record payment when money arrives, or let a verified supported Stripe test payment update the invoice automatically. Keep those events separate when explaining a document's history to your client.
