Share an invoice link and check viewed activity

Copy or revoke a hosted invoice snapshot and understand what Viewed records.

Needs a signed-in account. A hosted invoice link lets your client read a saved invoice snapshot in a browser. The link is different from sharing a PDF file: BillPad stores the shared snapshot and can record when its hosted page is opened.

  1. Open the invoice or quote and review the details.
  2. Choose Send to open the delivery sheet.
  3. Choose Copy link. BillPad saves and syncs the document before creating or updating the shared snapshot.
  4. Paste the link into your chosen message to the client.
  5. If clipboard access is unavailable, copy the link shown in the delivery status instead.

A copied link is not an email-send event. If you want BillPad to email the recipient, review To, Subject and Message and choose Send email.

See activity

Open Delivery activity on the document and choose Refresh activity. BillPad lists sent, reminder and payment events where available, and groups hosted page opens under Viewed with a count.

Viewed activity indicates that the link was opened. It does not identify the individual who opened it or prove that the intended recipient read every line. Forwarded links can be opened by someone else. Viewed is not a separate status filter in the invoice list.

Stop access

Open Send and choose Revoke existing link. Earlier links stop working. If you later need to share the invoice again, create a new link and send that replacement to the intended recipient.

Good to know

Anyone with the link can view its snapshot. Avoid posting it publicly. A hosted page is not a continuously live editor view: after changing invoice details, use the share or send action again and inspect the shared result. Financial state may also be refreshed by payment and reminder processing.

Revoking a link cannot remove PDF files or messages someone already saved. If the wrong recipient received a document, stop link access promptly and contact support if you need help understanding what was shared.
