Needs a signed-in account. Local saves and account sync are different steps. A document can be present on one device while the other device has not yet received it. Start with the device that holds the newest correct record.
Try this first
- Open Settings, Your account on both devices.
- Compare the displayed account email, including any Apple private relay address.
- Check internet access and the sync status on the device where you edited.
- Use Export backup on that device before making recovery changes.
Possible causes
Without sign-in, browser records stay in that browser on that device. Sign-in and sync are available in the BillPad iPhone and Android apps and are rolling out on the web. If you don't see Sign in in Settings, you can keep using BillPad without an account.
Offline changes wait for connectivity. An expired session, full browser storage or a record too large to sync can stop progress. Two different account emails are separate identities. BillPad can also reject starting another account's workspace in a browser already associated with a different account.
Fix the problem
- Reconnect and keep the editing device open while Syncing… finishes.
- If Retry appears under Your account, read the explanation and use it after fixing connectivity.
- If the session expired, sign in again using the same identity.
- Open the receiving device online and review its status before checking the invoice again.
- If BillPad reports another account's workspace, export first and use a separate browser profile for that account as the message directs.
A conflict copy needs review; do not send it as a second invoice automatically. Avoid restoring backups or re-importing the same invoices simply to force sync, since those actions can introduce additional differences.
Still stuck
Email [email protected] with both devices, their displayed status messages and which one contains the latest edits. Do not clear browser storage while it holds your only unsynced copy.
