Needs a signed-in account: syncing a workspace between devices. Use the same account on each device and allow syncing to finish before checking for recent changes elsewhere. Without an account, the web workspace remains in the browser where you created it.
Sign-in and sync are available in the BillPad iPhone and Android apps and are rolling out on the web. If you don't see Sign in in Settings, you can keep using BillPad without an account.
Check sync
- Open Settings and look under Your account.
- Confirm the email identity matches the one used on your other device.
- Read the sync status. Syncing… means work is in progress; Synced includes a time when available.
- If the app shows Error · retry sync, read the explanation and use Retry after restoring connectivity.
- If the session expired, sign in again with the same identity.
Work without a connection
Once loaded, the editor can work with local records offline. A fresh visit or reload may need a connection, so do not assume every browser can cold-start BillPad without internet. Sync, email delivery, hosted pages and Stripe payment operations need network access.
When you reconnect, keep the app open while it syncs. If two versions conflict, preserve a backup before choosing how to resolve them. Do not clear local data just to make an error disappear: that may remove the only copy of unsynced edits.
Sign out
Choose Sign out under Your account. The local workspace stays on the device. Signing out stops account access but is not a command to erase your invoices, exported files or browser storage.
Good to know
On a shared device, local data can remain visible after account sign-out. If you need deletion, read the separate privacy and deletion guide and export first if you want a copy.
Another tab changed this workspace is a local coordination warning. Export any unsaved work from that tab before reloading; it is different from simply being offline.
