BillPad

BillPad still looks old after an update

Reload safely, distinguish browser and app updates, and protect local records before cache changes.

A browser page and an installed phone app receive updates differently. Before investigating an older screen, protect your current records. Reloading can discard changes that exist only in an open page if browser storage has failed.

Try this first

  1. Identify whether you are using app.bill-pad.com in a browser, the iPhone app or the Android app.
  2. Read any storage or sync warning before closing the page.
  3. Choose Settings, Export backup and confirm that the file downloaded.
  4. If signed in, let syncing finish and note any error shown under Your account.

Possible causes

A tab opened before a release may still be running the files loaded at that time. Browser caching can retain old assets, while an installed app needs the corresponding store update. An account-gated feature may also be absent because of rollout rather than an outdated page.

Sign-in and sync are available in the BillPad iPhone and Android apps and are rolling out on the web. If you don't see Sign in in Settings, you can keep using BillPad without an account. Reloading does not necessarily enable a feature that is still rolling out.

Fix the problem

  1. After preserving your work, reload the browser page while online.
  2. If it still appears stale, try your browser's reload-without-cache option. Avoid options that also delete site data.
  3. For an installed app, check its listing in the App Store or Google Play for an available update and reopen it afterwards.
  4. Compare the specific screen or action again, rather than relying only on an icon looking unchanged.

Clearing cookies, site data or app storage can remove local records or sign you out. Reinstalling is not the first recovery step. Keep a verified backup before any operation that removes data, even if another device appears to have synced successfully.

Still stuck

Email [email protected] with the browser or app version, device and the screen you expected to change. Mention any error and whether a normal reload or store update was already tried.
