Import from Zeller

Export Zeller records and review the supported fields, dates and format limitations.

BillPad's Zeller invoice profile is provisional. No invoice-list export was confirmed in the format research; transaction and settlement exports are not necessarily invoice exports. The expected invoice headers are assumed, so do not treat a payment report as interchangeable with an invoice list.

How to export from Zeller

  1. In Zeller, look for the report or export for invoices. If your account offers an invoice CSV, save that file.
  2. Check that it contains invoice numbers, customer names, issue dates and totals. Do not use settlement totals as invoice amounts.
  3. If an invoice export is unavailable, prepare a generic CSV from your invoice records or contact support about the available format.

Import into BillPad

  1. Make a backup through Settings, Export backup if this workspace already contains records.
  2. Choose Start import under Switch to BillPad and select Invoices.
  3. Select Zeller as guidance, then use Choose file.
  4. Inspect Match columns. Required invoice fields are number, date, client and either total or line rate/amount.
  5. Confirm the date order if prompted, compare totals and paid amounts, then approve the reviewed import.

Check the source fields

Expected invoice headings include Invoice Number, Customer Name, Issue Date, Due Date, Total, Amount Paid and Currency. The assumed profile treats a row as an invoice summary unless line columns are present.

Zeller item-template headers are confirmed separately. Its template is available under Items, All Items, Manage, Import in the Zeller Dashboard. That verified template path does not establish an invoice or contacts export path. Product attributes can become named variants; review the item names and GST flags after import.

Good to know

The profile's fallback is DD/MM dates and AUD currency. Ambiguous numeric dates still require your explicit confirmation. Prefer an explicit currency column over relying on that fallback, especially for international work.

CSV and the first XLSX worksheet are supported, within 5 MB and 5,000 rows. Imported invoices do not trigger reminders or late fees. Existing documents count towards the 100-document limit.

If your file does not import, email a redacted example to [email protected], or use the generic CSV option and match the columns manually. Do not send passwords, sign-in links or unnecessary customer information. Keep the original export until you have compared several imported records with the source.
